Following the success of Microkosmos at the 2009 LSO Discovery Panufnik Young Composer Scheme, The London Symphony Orchestra will be commissioning Vlad a 10 min new work to be performed in a Barbican main stage concert in 2011.
Starting 2010, Vlad Maistorovici will be performing on an 1852 Rafaele ed Antonio Gagliano, kindly loaned to him by Mr. Hans van Swaay.
From September 2009, Vlad will be studying violin with Pierre Amoyal at the Conservatoire de Lausanne, on a MA - Soloist course. He will continue his composition studies with Mark Anthony Turnage on a PgDip in Composition course at the Royal College of Music London.
The Mercury Quartet has been invited to workshop Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire at the Dartington Summer School.
Duo Maistorovici-Bonuccelli was invited to take part in Lausanne Academy where they will be exploring duo repertoire under the guidance of Pierre Amoyal and Bruno Canino.
Europa Orchestra has invited Vlad to act as concertmaster for four concerts durin season 2009-2010.
Ensemble Cercles has commissioned Vlad to compose a work for soprano and percussion to be premiered on 18 December 2009 in Temple des Planchettes, Switzerland. The concert will be recorded and broadcast on Radio Suisse Romande.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra has commissioned Vlad to write a work for the Bright Sparks school concerts series.
Feb 2009: Vlad won the 2009 Tillett Trust Young Artist Platform.
Feb 2009: Vlad was awarded the Clive Christian Sound of Perfume Prize for Transcent for solo piano.
Vlad will be writing a piece for the London Philharmonic Orchestra to be workshoped and performed in April 2009 as part of the Young Composer Project - Seven Minute Sounding.

Nov 2008: The Mercury Quartet are winners of Nonclassical Battle of the Bands. The prize is a recording contract with NONCLASSICAL.
Vlad was commissioned by Northern Chords Chamber Music Festival to write a piece for tenor and ensemble to be premiered in March 2009. The solo part will be sung by tenor Ben Johnson.
Vlad was commissioned by the BBC to write a solo piano piece which will be broadcast in May during an anniversary weekend devoted to Mendelssohn's work. The work will be recorded by pianist Andrew Zolinsky.
Duo Maistorovici-Bonucelli will be mentored by maestro Bruno Canino at 2008-2009 special courses of Scuola di Fiesole.
In March 2009, King's College London will be offering 3 of its composition students a workshop with the Mercury Quartet. The workshop will be led by George Benjamin.
